Newcode announces Ireland’s first AI Enablement Programme for legal professionals - a landmark national initiative designed to accelerate responsible, governed AI adoption.


The first coordinated, multi-week AI Enablement Programme for the legal sector in Ireland has been launched, establishing a new benchmark for how the sector approaches adoption and implementation of AI within a law firm.

Commencing this week and running over six weeks, the programme brings together 475 legal professionals across 30 firms in Ireland.

The initiative provides firms with a clear, structured pathway to confident adoption - beginning with AI literacy, progressing into discipline-specific capability building, and culminating in senior leadership alignment on long-term strategy and governance.

In addition to the flagship programme, Newcode is launching its Academy to support ongoing continuous professional development, deliver tech-agnostic training, and provide custom workshops for law firms, enabling organisations to tier their training in line with internal compliance requirements.

Speaking about the launch, Donna O’Leary, Head of Newcode AI Ireland, explains:

This marks the first time Irish law firms have participated in a coordinated national AI adoption programme, positioning both participating firms and Newcode as leaders in responsible, governance-led AI transformation within the legal sector.
